Al mirarlas de cerca, las pinturas parecen componerse de simples bloques de color; sin embargo, solo necesitas alejarte un poco para ver sus escenas incluyendo paisajes urbanos, caminos, trenes y marinas en todo su esplendor. Anderson began his career as an apprentice glazier, where he worked restoring cathedral windows. He soon went on to design the stained glass windows himself, and it was thus that he learned to divide his subject into colored sections, as if it were a puzzle. This method is still present in his paintings today; the artist brings complex scenes to life through simple shapes and careful consideration of tone and color
