Tras más de 40 años de trabajo continuo, hemos generado un volumen que representa la mayor parte de los grupos de investigación que estudian primates en Argentina, tanto en estado silvestre como en cautiverio. También hemos incluido un resumen de la investigación primatológica en Argentina desde sus comienzos hasta el presente. Este libro aparece en un contexto social y académico vinculado con la creación y expansión de la Asociación de Primatología Argentina (APrimA) así como de la Sociedad Latinoamericana de Primatología (SLAPRIM), y en paralelo con volúmenes similares editados en Brasil, Perú, México, Colombia y Venezuela. Esperamos que este volumen contribuya a incorporar estudiantes a esta disciplina y que brinde información valiosa para generar un Plan Nacional de Conservación de Primates en Argentina, y en consecuencia preservar los hábitats de nuestros primos, los primates no humanos.
